Estate Wedding |Casitas in Arroyo Grande

Alyssa and Jimmy’s romantic wedding was held at the Casitas Estate, located just outside the quaint town of Arroyo Grande, CA. Breath-taking views of the surrounding Valley, can be experienced from this enchanted, Spanish-inspired estate. So it was no surprise when Alyssa and Jimmy chose to share their wedding day with close family and friends in September of 2018.

No detail was spared when planning this celebration, custom copper mugs were used for guests to find their seats and fill up their cups. Earthy and Romantic hues found in the design, narrated the beautiful surroundings of this estate’s grounds.

Almost one year later, we were able to connect with Alyssa and Jimmy to re-live the experience of their wedding day, please read on through their words:

What was your favorite part on your wedding day?

My favorite part on our big day was having all of our favorite people in the same place at the same time. The day was full of love and laughter. Now I know first-hand what it means when people say “Love is in the air.” We really felt that our family and friends were intimately connected with us on our big day. 

Why would you suggest hiring a wedding planner?

At first, I wasn’t going to hire a wedding planner. Then, when the rubber actually hit the road, I was like WOW! I definitely need a planner because there is no way I am going to be able to think of every detail and make decisions on my own. Having Janet was seriously the best. Especially living 4 hours away, she made it so easy and seamless for us when we made all of our decisions. I told her what I wanted, and she delivered. When we booked our venue, we decided on our date because that was one of the only days Janet was available! I would recommend everyone use a wedding planner!

What inspired you most, when planning your wedding?

What inspired us most when planning our wedding was the fact that Jimmy and I could conquer such a big thing together. It really revealed a lot of things about our relationship. We took on the challenge of fully funding our entire wedding on our own. We did accept some help from our family, which we were extremely grateful for, but we wanted to use that time as a way for us to see if we could make it happen together. We are both very competitive and love challenges, so taking on that challenge together, and having our friends and family have such a great time was such an accomplishment for us. It inspired us to realize that if we can pull that off, we can budget and plan for anything that we wanted! Sky’s the limit!

What surprised you on your wedding day?

Everything turned out so awesome, and our wedding really spoke to us. I would say the most surprising thing on our big day was our Wedding Party’s entrance performances. I gathered all of them the night before and said, “I don’t have entrance songs picked out for you guys, so get with your partner and decide on your entrance song together. It better be good!” Our Wedding Party fully embraced this challenge, and let’s just say, they did not disappoint! I was so surprised at how well they performed and danced, and they literally set the tone for the reception for the entire night. It was seriously amazing! We were so happy!
