Setting the Scene

Madonna Inn, known for its extravagance, kitsch and glamour was the perfect setting for this Modern Marie Antoinette at Madonna Inn styled shoot! From glitter walls, vivacious pinks and everything gold we had the MOST fun styling and designing this iconic, opulent and and historic shoot.

Vintage Blooms for the Romantic

Our dear friend and talented Floral Designer, Rachael Manuele brought life and grandeur to the shoot with her floral masterpieces. An abundance of vintage blooms with rich shades of reds and pinks were designed in antique brass vessels from Embellish Vintage Rentals. Marie’s love of everything flowers and femininity showered this shoot in all the right ways! Giving us a glimpse of what one of her lavish parties must have been like.

Channeling the Icon, Marie Antoinette

Our model Katie, channeled her inner Marie Antoinette from her beautiful disposition to her powder pink hair- one of Marie Antoinette’s most iconic fashion statements. A luxurious hand-beaded gown from Heart’s Desire graced her curves beautifully in the setting of this romantic soiree.

Decadent Desserts fit for a Queen

What’s a fete without treats?! Jenny from the Cake Cathedral took us back in time with a glamorous and decadent display of desserts, adorned on vintage brass platters and trays. The cake featured an image of the queen herself, Marie Antoinette- a beautiful piece featuring three layers with pink fondant, hand-made sugar flowers and edible gold plating. Jenny’s designs did not stop there, cupcakes featuring an array sugar medallions with gold floral cameos and an iconic croquembouche with a modern twist made of soft pink and white meringues.

Styling with Talent

This styled shoot of a Modern Marie at Madonna Inn was exhilarating-pushing us outside our normal comforts of wedding design. Capturing all the details behind the lens was Michelle Roller, her ability to preserve a moment in time gives us full body chills. This shoot featured romance, opulence and a controversial icon, Marie Antoinette. We are so thankful to all our talented vendors that made this shoot possible, I think we captured Marie’s essence in a modern light!
